Job description:
Responsible for providing non-medical, in-home support services that ensure the comfort, safety, and general supervision of clients, as well as home management assistance. This role involves offering companionship to individuals in need of socialization and/or minimal guidance, thereby fostering a safe, protected, clean, and orderly living environment.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with satisfactory completion of any mandated training requirements.
- Candidates must successfully complete the Comfort Keepers training and orientation program and demonstrate responsibility for understanding and adhering to Comfort Keepers’ policies and procedures. The ability to operate effectively in a home setting with minimal supervision and to maintain positive relationships with administrative staff, clients, and family members is essential. A genuine concern for aiding others along with a high standard of honesty and integrity is required.
Essential Functions:
- Perform duties as outlined in the care plan.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living by performing Comfort Keepers-approved personal care tasks, including, but not limited to bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, and ambulation.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and healthy living environment for clients and their families.
- Conduct light housekeeping tasks such as laundering client garments and linens and changing beds.
- Support clients’ nutritional needs through meal planning, preparation, grocery shopping, dishwashing, and kitchen clean-up.
- Remind clients to take self-administered medications.
- Observe and report any changes in the client’s mental, physical, or emotional condition or living situation to the immediate supervisor promptly.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and a professional rapport with clients, family members, and co-workers.
- Participate in in-service training, continuing education programs, staff meetings, and client conferences as requested by the immediate supervisor.
- Complete documentation of services delivered and submit it to the office in a timely manner, adhering to policy guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality concerning client information.
- Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned.
