Job description:
Creates a sanitary and safe environment while enhancing the facility’s appearance through various responsibilities, including the daily cleaning of patient rooms and assigned areas, waste collection and removal, changing bed linens, and sanitizing all surfaces. Additional tasks involve washing walls, cleaning and sanitizing bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and similar equipment, as well as dusting and damp cleaning vent covers and light fixtures. The role also requires stocking paper products and other supplies in patient rooms, inspecting bedside curtains and window shades for cleanliness, emptying waste baskets, polishing brass, and cleaning glass panels in doors and partitions. Further responsibilities include dusting and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, cleaning urinals and toilets according to established procedures, and assisting with emergency spills as needed.

Maintains cleanliness and functionality of carts and equipment, ensuring they are stored in appropriate areas at the end of each shift. Responsible for keeping utility and storage rooms organized and returning unused or unsoiled supplies to their designated locations.

Performs routine cleaning tasks in designated areas, adhering to established work schedules and methods. This includes cleaning and sanitizing furniture, equipment, window sills, and inside windows, as well as polishing furniture and fixtures as necessary. Arranging furniture and equipment systematically and reporting any malfunctioning items to the supervisor is also required.

Collects and disposes of rubbish, general waste, and medical waste following prescribed disposal procedures, ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, objectives, safety standards, and confidentiality protocols. Maintains accurate logs and records.

This is a full-time position that may transition from temporary to permanent employment for the right candidate. Available shifts include 2nd shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and 3rd shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with previous housekeeping experience preferred. The role requires a demonstrated ability to follow specific instructions and perform routine tasks consistently.
