Job description:

We are actively seeking full-time and part-time Housekeepers to join our team at DMC Children’s Hospital located at 3901 Beaubien Boulevard, Detroit, MI 48201. Please note that online applications are accepted exclusively.

Both full-time and part-time positions are available, with schedules that may vary, including rotating weekends. Further details regarding the schedule will be provided during the interview process. Candidates must possess prior housekeeping experience.

The pay rate for this position is $18.10 per hour.

Job Summary:
As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for performing light cleaning duties to ensure that the facility maintains a clean and orderly environment. Your duties will include making beds, replenishing linens, cleaning rooms and hallways, and vacuuming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by providing focused attention to detail.
  • Sweep, scrub, mop, and polish floors.
  • Vacuum carpets, rugs, and draperies.
  • Shampoo carpets, rugs, and upholstery as needed.
  • Dust and polish furniture and fixtures.
  • Clean metal fixtures and fittings.
  • Empty and sanitize trash containers and dispose of waste effectively.
  • Clean wash basins, mirrors, tubs, and showers.
  • Wipe down glass surfaces.
  • Make up beds and change linens per requirements.
  • Realign furniture and amenities according to standard layouts.
  • Address guest inquiries and requests.
  • Respond promptly to housekeeping issues, including spills and breakages.
  • Collaborate with team members and maintain professionalism in interactions with customers and colleagues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
