Job Overview:
The Housekeeping Supervisor will oversee the operations of the housekeeping staff to promote a safe environment and deliver quality service in order to achieve maximum guest satisfaction, ensure asset protection, and minimize expenses.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the housekeeping team, facilitating open communication and providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Inspect the cleanliness of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and health regulations to uphold high cleanliness standards and guest satisfaction.
  • Assign tasks to staff, reviewing special requests and areas of focus to ensure a seamless housekeeping operation.
  • Distribute supplies and equipment to staff at the beginning of each shift to manage inventory and maintain adequate resource availability while controlling costs.
  • Address guest requests, concerns, and issues to guarantee satisfaction. Maintain accurate records of lost and found items and respond to inquiries to uphold service standards.
  • Implement emergency training and procedures to safeguard the hotel, guests, staff, and company assets.

Qualifications:
Education/Formal Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of one to two years of experience in a related position is required.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Familiarity with housekeeping operations and hotel services acquired through on-the-job experience.
  • Strong supervisory skills are essential.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described are representative of what must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of linen, supplies, or furniture; push and pull housekeeping carts and vacuum cleaners weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Carry up to 35 lbs. of supplies; bend to pick up items, clean guest rooms, and perform trash removal.
  • Communicate effectively regarding information and hotel services to management and guests.
  • Inspect guest rooms and public areas, and review reports without difficulty.
  • Frequent mobility throughout the hotel with continuous standing (90% of the shift) and occasional stair climbing (approximately 100 steps), and climbing ladders (approximately 3 feet high, about 2% of the shift).

  • Engaging in prolonged vigorous physical activity in a climate-controlled environment, with occasional exposure to excessive heat and humidity in laundry areas.
