Job Overview

The Identity & Access Management (IAM) Analyst will administer, configure, and maintain UC’s IAM systems. This role involves investigating user-reported issues, addressing support tickets, gathering requirements, and implementing new IAM solutions to enhance system functionality.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate user account life cycle management, encompassing creation, provisioning, security, and deactivation of access, primarily through automated processes.
  • Configure IAM components, including drivers and scripts, while performing functionality, efficiency, and robustness testing.
  • Engage in projects and provide production support focused on the deployment and maintenance of IAM systems.
  • Collaborate on the design, implementation, and support of IAM technologies.
  • Contribute to projects that ensure adherence to standard processes when introducing new provisioning and role management components.
  • Support the development and implementation of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) integrations and strategies.
  • Document and archive all evidence of authorization in compliance with internal standards.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to IAM tools and processes to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Assist with application upgrades and the evaluation of new technologies, settings, and functionalities.
  • Enforce organizational policies to ensure access is granted only to authorized personnel in alignment with RBAC and the principle of least privilege.
  • Participate in ongoing audits and risk assessments, implementing recommendations as necessary.
  • Disable dormant accounts and records to ensure that access is revoked for individuals no longer requiring information.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation related to standard operating procedures, system configurations, and technical settings for use by internal teams and end-users.
  • Recommend process improvements and develop solutions to automate and streamline repeatable tasks within IAM.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to the UC community, including students, staff, and faculty.
  • Perform additional related duties as needed based on departmental requirements.

Required Education

  • An Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or specialized training may be substituted for the educational requirement.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience is required.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Experience with Identity and Access Management systems, platforms, and processes.
  • Familiarity with Micro Focus NetIQ Identity and Access Management and Microsoft Active Directory/Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ID).
  • Previous experience in a higher education environment.
  • Competence in managing both Linux and Windows servers.
  • Proficiency in Federated Authentication/SSO.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and the ability to write SQL queries.
