As a caregiver, you will play a vital role in enriching the lives of our elderly clients, providing both physical and emotional support while establishing meaningful connections. We welcome serious applicants who are ready to work and are passionate about caring for the elderly. Currently, we are seeking assistance for a client during the hours of 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize transfer assistive devices, including but not limited to Hoyer lifts, sit-to-stand, gait belts, and slide boards.
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and ambulating.
- Monitor changes in client health and collaborate with the healthcare team as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment, which may include light housekeeping duties.
- Manage and maintain the use of devices such as catheters, colostomy bags, and oxygen supplies.
- Assess changes in client condition and communicate findings to the supervisor immediately.
- Develop and implement engaging life enrichment activities for clients.
- Adhere to the scheduled plan while assisting residents with repositioning.
- Transport clients to medical appointments or shopping as needed.
- Complete all necessary documentation and charting accurately.
- Plan, shop for, and prepare nutritious meals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Follow all Homestead policies and procedures diligently.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of caregiving experience.
- Experience in administering medications.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Reliable transportation, willing to travel within a maximum radius of 25 miles.
- Availability to work weekends.
