We are currently seeking motivated and experienced Maintenance Technicians to join our team at the Fabrication Plant in Chesterfield, MI. The Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Manager and will be accountable for various maintenance activities related to machinery and facility operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enhancing safety, product quality, production output, and cost efficiency to help us achieve our plant objectives.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute work assignments derived from complex blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions, maximizing efficiency in task completion.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices for positioning machinery and parts during installation, setup, and repairs.
- Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair plant machinery, tools, molds, equipment, systems, and physical structures with competence.
- Utilize all provided tools and machinery, including lathes and grinders, safely and proficiently for maintenance, overhaul, or setup of company assets.
- Stay informed about national, provincial, and local codes affecting repair, maintenance, safety, and the construction and dismantling of machinery and equipment.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Collaborate with colleagues during emergencies, plant shutdowns, or periods of machine inactivity to restore equipment functionality promptly.
- Complete maintenance request forms with accuracy and within a reasonable timeframe.
- Manage inventory levels and oversee the procurement of new tools and machinery as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Electrical experience is advantageous.
- A minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, piping, and/or welding disciplines.
Working Conditions:
- This role demands a high level of mobility, including substantial walking, prolonged standing, reaching, twisting, bending, climbing, and the ability to lift weights ranging from 50 to 75 pounds.
