Job description:

We are seeking skilled and motivated Multi-Craft Maintenance Technicians to join our team at our union facility located in Baltimore, OH. Ideal candidates will have the capability to conduct preventive maintenance inspections as well as mechanical and electrical repairs of heavy manufacturing equipment and systems. Qualified candidates will enjoy a competitive compensation and benefits package, with benefit eligibility commencing on the first day of the month following your start date. The entry-level annual earning potential starts at $70,000, with an hourly rate of $33.00.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and some non-routine maintenance and repair work under general supervision, following established procedures.
  • Comply with all safety policies and protocols.
  • Contribute to plant-wide initiatives related to safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement (including Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing).
  • Ensure machinery and equipment reliability by executing preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Carry out mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, engineering specifications, and work orders to execute required maintenance and service.
  • Utilize hand tools and measuring instruments to assess changes in dimensional requirements of parts.
  • Disassemble devices to remove defective parts using hand and power tools.
  • Participate in plant-wide safety initiatives and continuous improvement programs as assigned.
  • Fulfill additional duties as required.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma (or equivalent) is typically required, along with 4+ years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven ability to operate machines, hand tools, and electrical equipment effectively.
  • Strong understanding of automated industrial machinery, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and work orders.
  • Solid problem-solving capabilities combined with practical mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Basic troubleshooting experience and demonstrated skills in machine repair.
  • Familiarity with pump internals and rebuilding, including bearings, seals, sleeves, etc.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Welding, machining, and fabrication skills are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
