Position Description: (On-Site position)
The Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the implementation, support, enhancement, and integration of various systems for our general user community. This role involves collaborating with senior leaders, department heads, end-users, other IT administrators, and vendors to address the computing, storage, networking, and security requirements within our healthcare enterprise. The Infrastructure Administrator must effectively communicate with non-technical personnel at all levels and execute tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Overseeing daily operations, performance, and availability of all infrastructure systems.
  • Participating in the design, construction, testing, and maintenance of diverse infrastructure systems.
  • Supporting the Microsoft computing environment, both on-premises and cloud-based.
  • Engaging with the VMware environment and managing virtual operations.
  • Implementing and supporting Extreme Networks LAN, WAN, and WLAN environments.
  • Operating various system and user monitoring platforms.
  • Involvement in data standards, retention, and backup operations across multiple systems.
  • Working independently with internal and external customers and vendors.
  • Prioritizing tasks and ensuring deliverable timelines are met.
  • Providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 level support for incident resolution.
  • Offering support and training to Tier 1 teams throughout the organization.
  • Acting as project manager for IT projects involving infrastructure.
  • Communicating effectively with IT team members regarding priorities and potential projects.
  • Keeping abreast of technical product developments and learning new technologies as required.
  • Understanding and adhering to current and evolving standards regarding privacy, confidentiality, accessibility, security, and intellectual property rights.
  • Ensuring a secure working environment that protects confidential information and complies with HIPAA and other regulatory standards. Developing and maintaining clear, concise documentation for infrastructure systems.
  • Contributing input and feedback on policy and processes as the technology environment evolves.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A four-year degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is required.
  • Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft product lines in both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of Server OS, SQL Server, Exchange, Active Directory, Azure, Intune, and M365.
  • Understanding of network design principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with IP design principles, SD-WAN, and wireless technologies.
  • Proficient in cybersecurity principles and standards, with exposure to security systems such as firewalls, IPS systems, and ESAs.
  • Experience with virtualization of computer platforms, particularly in VMware environments.
  • A demonstrated capacity to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and judgment.
  • Sensitivity in interactions with individuals from diverse backgrounds and the ability to collaborate effectively with varied groups.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, combined with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • A strong commitment to continuous improvement and skill development.
  • Effective problem-solving skills that are both practical and creative.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience within a healthcare organization is preferred.
