We are currently seeking a Machine Operator to join our team in Fremont, OH. This position offers a night shift schedule from 6:48 PM to 7:00 AM on a 2,2,3 rotation with 12-hour shifts.
The Machine Operator will be responsible for the operation of multiple plastic blow molding machines and inline equipment, ensuring that the production of containers is conducted safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards. The key responsibilities of this role include:
– Understand, adhere to, and enforce all established safety, health, quality, GMP, and company policies and procedures.
– Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and related activities as assigned.
– Operate a set of plastic blow molding machines and auxiliary equipment, maintaining safety and quality in production.
– Perform and assist with mold, insert, and color changes on the production line.
– Optimize machine efficiency and minimize scrap through basic processing of injection and/or blow molding machines.
– Fulfill utility position tasks during slower production periods as needed.
– Monitor HDPE/PET resin (if applicable), dryers, material handling, and color systems to ensure appropriate processing conditions.
– Undertake on-time quality checks of produced products against established standards.
– Collaborate with other operators and maintenance personnel for mechanical repairs.
– Execute assigned preventative maintenance tasks.
– Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to workplace safety standards.
– Complete and file all necessary documentation in a timely and organized manner.
– Communicate effectively with the Production Shift Supervisor to coordinate production line support staff for achieving line objectives.
– Verify material usage in accordance with established standards.
– Conduct minor troubleshooting and programming on the line, promptly notifying leads and supervisors of any significant issues.
– Operate machinery to optimize regrind, purge, and scrap usage per customer specifications.
– Properly identify produced regrind and chunk materials.
– Share processing updates with incoming shift personnel and assist fellow operators as needed.
– Support the training of new operators.
– Occasional travel may be required.
Qualifications for this role include a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, as interaction with managers, colleagues, vendors, and customers is integral to the position. Essential skills include:
