We are seeking an Instrumentation and Electrical Technician to become an integral part of our client’s innovative manufacturing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and upgrading essential electrical and instrumentation systems, while fostering a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Direct Hire

  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Union wage of $35.05/hour, plus overtime
  • Potential for a 6% annual bonus target

What You’ll Do

  • Safely maintain and repair manufacturing and utility equipment in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with manufacturing equipment, document deviations, and assist in problem investigations.
  • Utilize computer systems to source spare parts and complete necessary documentation.
  • Install, calibrate, inspect, and repair instruments and electrical equipment in compliance with relevant standards (e.g., NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, ISA).
  • Interpret and work with electrical and process control diagrams, including wiring schematics, P&IDs, and instrument loop diagrams.
  • Repair and troubleshoot motor control circuits, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other related equipment.
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentorship for team members as required.
  • Identify and share continuous improvement ideas to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and advocate for safe working practices.
  • Complete reports and documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety guidelines, and life-saving rules.

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • A 2-year technical degree or certificate in industrial electrical or instrumentation (preferred), or a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in an industrial maintenance environment without a degree.
  • Prior experience in a chemical plant or similar industrial setting is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems, with relevant certifications from trade schools or professional organizations (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift schedule and perform physical tasks, including climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Comfort working in outdoor environments under various weather conditions.
