Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Disaster Recovery Technical Analyst to lead our disaster recovery program and ensure the resilience of our IT systems in the event of a disaster. This role will involve both on-site and remote collaboration, and is positioned within a contract-to-hire framework.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee all activities related to the disaster recovery program, ensuring the organization is equipped to recover systems during a disaster and effectively executing disaster recovery (DR) testing exercises at both on-premises and colocation facilities.
- Plan, design, document, and test disaster recovery solutions that align with business and technological requirements.
- Assess current technology solutions to determine their suitability for new business or technology needs, and recommend alternative technologies as necessary.
- Provide expert technical guidance in disaster recovery methodologies, including backup and recovery solutions, data replication, failover and failback procedures, and recovery testing.
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT disaster recovery projects, which includes conducting risk assessments, impact analyses, and developing comprehensive recovery plans.
- Ensure the maintenance of accurate documentation of disaster recovery plans, procedures, and testing results; prepare and present reports on the status of disaster recovery initiatives to senior management and stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of IT disaster recovery processes and technologies.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure services or infrastructure analysis, deployment, and support.
- Comprehensive understanding of disaster recovery methodologies, including backup and recovery solutions, data replication, failover and failback procedures, and related recovery testing.
- Proven experience collaborating with service providers and delegating operational tasks under the guidance of a director or manager.
- Expert-level knowledge of IT infrastructure components, industry trends, and best practices.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and metrics.
