Job description:

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will take the lead in overseeing and mentoring a team of engineers while collaborating closely with the Project Manager and Senior IT Leadership. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that projects are executed effectively, adhering to established timelines and budgetary constraints. Additionally, you will focus on team development, provide hands-on support, and maintain organized and clear communication within the team.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Development:

    • Mentor and support a team of engineers to uphold high technical standards and foster collaborative teamwork.
    • Delegate tasks and oversee team efforts to ensure the achievement of project deadlines and objectives.
    • Encourage continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
  • Collaboration with Project Management:

    • Partner with the Project Manager and Senior IT Leadership to ensure that technical solutions align with project requirements and scope.
    • Monitor project milestones, identify potential challenges, and implement strategic solutions to guarantee timely and effective delivery.
  • Network Expertise:

    • Design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructures, including firewalls, servers, switches, and related hardware.
    • Provide both onsite and remote support for advanced technical issues.
    • Ensure that network systems comply with security protocols, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
  • Communication & Organizational Skills:
    • Act as the principal liaison between the engineering team and leadership, facilitating clear and effective communication.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, project statuses, and issue resolutions.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
    • A minimum of five years of experience in network engineering, including at least two years in a leadership position.
  • Technical Expertise:

    • Proficient in configuring and managing firewalls, servers, switches, backup solutions, and VOIP systems.
    • In-depth understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
    • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
    • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as NIST, HIPAA, and CMMC is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
    • Excellent organizational abilities with strong attention to detail.
    • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • Microsoft Certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, MS Server, Office 365, etc.).
    • CompTIA Network+ or Security+.
