Job description:
POSITION SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance of kennels and cages at the Miami County Animal Shelter, thereby contributing to the safety and health of the animals under our care.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have completed four (4) years of high school or possess an equivalent level of education. The ideal candidate will be able to interpret and execute a variety of instructions presented in different formats, identify and respond appropriately to unusual or threatening situations, recognize and adhere to safety warnings, collaborate effectively within a team, and demonstrate the capability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

DUTIES: Under direct supervision, the incumbent will engage in a variety of custodial tasks that involve physical labor. Responsibilities include utilizing cleaning chemicals, scrapers, squeegees, and hot water to clean and sanitize kennel and run areas. Additionally, the individual will provide food and water for the animals and handle them with care while maintaining the cleanliness of the kennel area. Daily tasks encompass cleaning kennels, feeding dishes, bedding, toys, and doing laundry. The employee will meet all job safety requirements, adhering to applicable OSHA standards related to essential functions. Punctual and regular attendance is mandatory. HOURS: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 10:00 am
COMPENSATION: $16.00 per hour
