Key Responsibilities:
- Develop weekly dining room menus using established or creative recipes.
- Supervise food preparation while maintaining quality, presentation, and sanitation standards, including verifying portion sizes and adhering to department policies and procedures.
- Ensure the efficiency of all kitchen equipment, oversee team members in food production and cleaning, and uphold cleanliness and organization in storage areas, including proper food breakdown, rotation, labeling, dating, and storage.
- Actively manage food costs within parameters established by culinary leadership.
- Execute opening, closing, and side work duties as per operational guidelines.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of experience as a Line Cook, Lead Line Cook, or Kitchen Supervisor.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to lead effectively.
- Detail-oriented with basic mathematical skills for recipe measurements and calculations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- No formal college degree required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and bending, with occasional tasks involving pushing and pulling of equipment.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to prepare various food items.
