Job description:

Job Summary:
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring the availability of clean linens for the hotel. This role encompasses all aspects of linen processing, including collecting, transporting, sorting, weighing, loading, and unloading linens (via washers, dryers, and chutes), as well as ironing, folding, storing, and delivering them. Additionally, the Laundry Attendant is tasked with maintaining cleanliness in the laundry machinery and work area.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate washing machines and dryers efficiently.
  • Wash and dry all soiled linens, towels, and rags as directed by management.
  • Clean the dryer filter daily and maintain all equipment according to established training.
  • Utilize irons according to standards and ensure they are switched off at the day’s end (specific responsibilities may vary by property).
  • Fold linens and towels and maintain the stocking of linen carts as necessary.
  • Adhere to safe work practices to ensure the safety of guests and fellow employees.
  • Sweep and mop laundry floors, ensuring all linens are stored off the floor.
  • Familiarize oneself with all policies and house rules of Aimbridge Hospitality.
  • Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry carts.
  • Keep laundry carts clean and free from debris.
  • Stock linen closets throughout the hotel as applicable.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; experience in a hotel or related field is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly.
  • Capability to perform under stress in high-pressure situations.
  • Maintain composure and objectivity in demanding environments.
  • Ability to consistently push or pull laundry carts (both empty and full) with a potential weight range of 50-400 lbs (varies by property).
  • Ability to occasionally transfer linens from washer to dryer with a potential weight range of 25-150 lbs (varies by property).
