Job description:
Position Summary
Lead Resident Assistants play a crucial role on our wellness team by offering personal support to residents and helping them maintain their highest levels of functional independence and psychosocial well-being, all under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Duties/Responsibilities:
– Provide assistance to residents with activities of daily living, which includes ambulation, transferring, showering, personal hygiene, incontinence care, feeding, reminders, and supervision as detailed in each resident’s individual care plan.
– Engage with residents in various activities, both in group settings and one-on-one, to encourage socialization and foster friendships among residents.
– Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents, ensuring resident rooms are tidy and overseeing scheduled housekeeping tasks such as laundry. Serve meals to residents in the dining room or apartments.
– Promote a balanced diet for residents while respecting their right to choose, and document any changes in eating habits for supervisor review.
– Observe residents closely and report any changes in their psychosocial or physical condition, including skin breakdown, rashes, behavioral changes, or alterations in speech or appearance, to the Wellness Director.
– Accurately maintain resident records daily in compliance with company policies and procedures.
– Adhere to established safety protocols, including fire safety, infection control, bloodborne pathogens, hazardous waste management, and quality assurance processes. Respond promptly and positively to all requests for assistance, including emergency pull cords, phone calls, and family inquiries.
– Report all complaints, grievances, suspicions of abuse, and actual incidents of abuse to the Wellness Director and/or the Executive Director.
– Attend Wellness meetings and participate in mandatory training sessions to ensure adherence to all regulations and organizational policies.
– Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
– Exceptional communication skills, enabling clear and effective interactions with residents and staff. Ability to read, comprehend, and compose simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
– Capability to make routine decisions based on established guidelines, exercising minimal independent judgment. Problems should generally be resolved using detailed instructions or through consultation with a supervisor.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:
– Experience in working with older adults.
– Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.

Education and Requirements:
