Job Functions:

  • As a Charge Nurse, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional care and superior customer service to all residents on your unit.
  • Collaborate with the nursing leadership team to plan, develop, and manage the overall operations of the facility, ensuring quality care is provided to residents around the clock.
  • As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will assess residents’ conditions in order to implement interventions and create personalized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of residents’ observations in Point Click Care (PCC) to ensure adherence to care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with facility medical records, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct routine rounds on residents independently and alongside physicians; monitor and evaluate symptoms, progress, and reactions to treatments, implementing necessary interventions and medications.
  • Deliver preventative, supportive, maintenance, and rehabilitative care addressing both physiological and psychosocial needs to promote residents’ well-being.
  • Perform a variety of treatments, including dressing changes, wound cleansing or irrigation, foley catheter irrigations, IV therapy, and tube feedings.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position provides general supervision to CNAs/STNAs, including the retraining of CNAs/STNAs, conducting counseling sessions, and carrying out disciplinary actions as required. This role does not involve directing or supervising the work of Registered Nurses.

Requirements:

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Must hold a current state license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • One year of professional nursing experience in a long-term care setting is preferred (not mandatory).
  • Familiarity with applicable state nursing regulations is advantageous.

Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of current federal and state laws and regulations relevant to nursing practice in a long-term care environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Proficiency in applying mathematical concepts, such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, to practical scenarios.
  • Basic computer skills are essential.
