Job description:
We are seeking a skilled, dedicated, and passionate culinary professional for the position of Cook at The Lytle Park Hotel. As an integral member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the preparation and execution of menu items, ensuring high-quality food production and exceptional plate presentation that exceeds guest expectations. Key responsibilities of the Cook include, but are not limited to:

– Executing daily preparation tasks and setting the line for service.
– Preparing all hot food items to standard recipes and as specified on guest checks, ensuring product consistency.
– Assessing the quality of food upon arrival, promptly informing the Sous Chef of any damaged or substandard products. Properly labeling, dating, and storing all food items.
– Maintaining a clean and safe work area while adhering to sanitation standards, and reporting any safety concerns immediately.
– Ensuring timely food preparation while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
– Working diligently with established recipes and presentations to meet food cost targets and uphold uniform quality, consistency in seasoning, and plate aesthetics.
– Proactively seeking opportunities to enhance productivity within the kitchen.
– Managing proper food handling and rotation in alignment with established procedures, including adherence to cooking and cooling temperature standards.
– Utilizing appropriate and safe knife skills.
– Collaborating with the Sous Chef to place food requisition orders according to business demand.
– Being responsive to food server requests concerning guest preferences and needs.
– Maintaining open communication with supervisors regarding any concerns or updates.
– Performing additional tasks as assigned by the Sous Chef and assisting in various areas as required.

Qualifications for the position include:

– A minimum of one year of relevant culinary experience, with a preference for candidates with a background in hospitality.
– Required hot line experience.
