Job description:
The Lytle Park Hotel, part of the Autograph Collection by Pyramid Global Hospitality, is on a mission to redefine hospitality. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate culinary professional to join our team as Cook. In this role, you will be instrumental in food preparation, including station setup, cooking, and precise plate presentation, all aimed at exceeding guest expectations.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year of relevant experience, particularly in line cooking. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
– Completing daily preparation tasks and setting up the line for service.
– Preparing all hot food items according to standard recipes and as specified on guest orders, ensuring product consistency.
– Assessing the quality of incoming food and notifying the Sous Chef of any damaged items, as well as properly labeling, dating, and storing all food.
– Maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment, actively reporting safety concerns.
– Upholding high standards of food preparation while multitasking effectively.
– Following standard recipes and presentations to meet food cost requirements and ensure uniform quality, including consistency in seasoning and plate presentation.
– Continuously seeking methods to enhance productivity.
– Handling and rotating food as per established procedures, focusing on proper cooking and cooling temperatures.
– Demonstrating safe knife skills.
– Collaborating with the Sous Chef on food requisitions based on business needs.
– Respecting and accommodating food server requests concerning guest preferences and requests.
– Maintaining open communication with supervisors and performing other tasks as assigned by the Sous Chef.
Qualifications include at least one year of culinary experience, with a preference for candidates who have a background in hospitality and hot line cooking experience.
