The opportunity
Delaware North Travel is seeking dedicated full-time and part-time Line Cooks to become integral members of our team at Detroit Airport in Detroit, Michigan. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for meticulously preparing dishes in accordance with recipes and specifications set by our chefs. What will you do?
– Accurately measure, portion, and cook all food items promptly
– Maintain appropriate food temperatures and ensure safe food storage
– Perform opening, closing, and side work duties in accordance with established guidelines
– Keep your workstation and equipment clean, organized, and adequately stocked
– Adhere to waste control procedures and maintain records of food spoilage
More about you
– A minimum of 6 months of experience as a prep cook or line cook
– Ability to work efficiently and manage multiple orders simultaneously
– Capability to follow procedures and take direction accurately
– Basic math skills for understanding and calculating recipe measurements and proportions
Physical requirements
– Manual dexterity sufficient for chopping, mixing, and blending a variety of foods and liquids
– Ability to lift and carry large pans weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as operate kitchen equipment
