17 West is a premier American Bistro located in New Bremen, Ohio, offering a unique dining experience that includes a comprehensive lunch and dinner menu, daily specials, an extensive cocktail selection, and live entertainment. With an upscale yet casual atmosphere, our restaurant caters to various occasions, from business lunches to evening outings and everything in between. We pride ourselves on industry-leading pay and are closed on Sundays.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Menu and Food Preparation: Assist in food preparation and cooking for both restaurant and catering functions. Contribute creative ideas for new recipes and seasonal menu items. Rotate among grill, sauté, fry, and cold food/pantry stations, ensuring all stations are adequately prepped and stocked to meet anticipated demand. Work efficiently to present dishes promptly while maintaining cleanliness and resetting stations as necessary.

  • Food Expeditor: Set up the expo station with all necessary hot and cold food items, plating ware, ingredients, garnishes, and supplies to ensure smooth operation. Expedite dishes effectively while maintaining a clean and organized workstation. Communicate any issues to the Chef promptly and coordinate with line cooks and servers to ensure timely food preparation and service.

  • Quality and Health/Safety Regulations: Maintain high food quality standards throughout the dining room and catering events. Adhere to all health and safety regulations while ensuring cleanliness in the kitchen, prep areas, and equipment. Uphold strong personal hygiene practices during all shifts.

  • Miscellaneous Duties: Assist with the unloading and stocking of products, and perform other tasks as assigned.

Compensation: Starting at $17.39/hr, with potential earnings up to $20.87/hr.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of fewer than 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Flexibility to work variable hours, including days, evenings, weekends (excluding Sundays), and holidays.
  • Preference for candidates aged 18 and older.
  • Experience in restaurant environments, specifically in grill, sauté, fry, and cold food stations, is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills along with excellent personal hygiene habits.
