Summary of Position:
The role involves the accurate and efficient preparation of a variety of food products, including meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and other hot items. Responsibilities include cooking and portioning food items before preparation, as well as executing various duties relating to food and plate presentation, such as plating, garnishing, and preparing appropriate accompaniments for all hot menu items.

Duties & Responsibilities:
– Prepare a diverse range of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items utilizing broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and various other kitchen equipment.
– Assume full responsibility for the quality of all products served.
– Consistently adhere to established portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
– Stock and maintain adequate levels of food products at line stations to ensure smooth service operations.
– Portion food items prior to cooking in accordance with standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
– Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation, including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection ovens, flat top ranges, and refrigeration equipment.
– Prepare items for various cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning, and marinating as required.
– Follow proper plating and garnish presentation for all dishes.
– Ensure that all products are handled, stored, and rotated correctly.
– Assist with food preparation assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
– Properly close the kitchen at the end of service, following the closing checklist for kitchen stations, and assist colleagues in the process.
– Attend all scheduled employee meetings and contribute suggestions for improvement.
– Perform other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or supervising manager.

Qualifications:
– A minimum of two years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
– At least six months of experience in a similar role.
– Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen staff, and dining personnel.
– Capacity to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
– Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods, up to nine hours.
