Job description:
At SSP America, we are seeking dedicated Line Cooks who play a crucial role in our kitchen operations. Starting at $18.00 per hour, this full-time position offers comprehensive benefits and immediate hiring opportunities, along with prospects for career advancement.

As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for receiving food orders and preparing delectable dishes for our guests. You will ensure that the kitchen is organized and equipped, providing your team with the necessary products and tools for a smooth operation. Key responsibilities include:

– Following recipes and practicing portion control to prepare, garnish, and present menu items.
– Maintaining an organized and adequately stocked kitchen/station on a daily basis.
– Requisitioning and stocking all necessary food items, paper products, and condiments.
– Properly handling, storing, and rotating all food products to ensure quality.
– Performing regular maintenance, cleaning, and breakdown of kitchen machinery and equipment.
– Managing the stock, cutting, and storage of perishables to ensure optimal freshness.
– Completing opening, ongoing, and closing checklists as required.
– Taking ownership of the quality of the dishes served.
– Executing general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products to meet health standards as outlined by your supervisor.
– Undertaking additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

– A minimum of one year of experience in a food service environment.
– A high school diploma is preferred.
– Strong verbal and written communication skills.
– Proficiency in reading, speaking, and understanding English to effectively communicate with guests and take orders.
– Basic mathematical skills are required.
– Food handler’s permit as mandated by law.
– Brand certification, as required.
– Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
