The Reserve at Red Run, Madison Heights’ newest senior independent living facility, is seeking talented and dedicated cooks to join our team. You will have the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art kitchen that features a ‘cook to order’ menu, ensuring that each meal contributes meaningfully to the well-being of our community members. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in performing and coordinating food preparation to meet or exceed our high standards for quality, quantity, and timely service.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals for community members with care and attention to detail.
- Coordinate and assist in managing meal services to ensure a seamless dining experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food service areas.
- Keep accurate records related to food service operations.
- Receive and rotate inventory in compliance with food safety standards.
- Accommodate special dietary needs as required by community members.
- Prepare texture-modified foods as requested.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding food handling.
- Monitor compliance with quality service standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the culinary team.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is required; an Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts is preferred.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a restaurant setting with large-scale meal preparation.
- Serve Safe Certification is preferred.
- Experience in menu planning is advantageous.
- Strong multitasking abilities and time management skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Proficient in English for effective communication.
- Ability to verify eligibility to work in the United States.
- Willingness to undergo and pass a criminal background check.
- Current TB test and physical examination required, if applicable.
Requirements:
- Availability to work every other weekend.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and support loads of 100 pounds.
- Frequent kneeling, crouching, and bending required.
- Ability to stand for the entirety of the shift.
