Position Summary

The Security Officer will be responsible for patrolling all areas of the property and assisting guests with room access. Key responsibilities include monitoring Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), perimeter alarm systems, duress alarms, and fire life safety systems. The role requires locking property entrances as needed and conducting daily physical hazard inspections.

In the event of accidents, the Security Officer will respond swiftly by contacting EMS or administering first aid/CPR as necessary. The individual will assist guests and employees during emergency situations, notify appropriate personnel of incidents (including accidents and disturbances), and successfully defuse any guest or employee disruptions. Should the situation require additional assistance, the Security Officer is expected to call for outside support.

The completion of incident reports to document all Security and Loss Prevention-related occurrences is essential, alongside handling interruptions and complaints, resolving safety hazards, and escorting unwelcome individuals from the property while ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the establishment. The Security Officer will report to the scene of vehicle accidents and thefts, employing proper code responses when calling for assistance.

A Loss Prevention shift summary and daily activity report must be completed to maintain an accurate record of activities. Confidentiality regarding all Security and Loss Prevention reports and property documents is imperative, with information released solely to authorized personnel. The role also involves conducting investigations, gathering evidence, and interviewing relevant parties.

The Security Officer will adhere to all company policies and procedures, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management. Completion of safety training and certifications is required, and personal appearance must remain clean and professional to reflect the organization’s standards. Upholding the confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets is essential.

Customer service is a priority; therefore, the Security Officer is expected to welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address their service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation. Effective communication is necessary, utilizing clear and professional language in verbal and written interactions.

Building and maintaining positive working relationships, supporting team efforts to achieve common goals, and complying with quality assurance expectations and standards are also essential elements of this role. The position may require extended periods of standing, sitting, or walking, as well as physical demands including moving and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted, and more than 75 pounds with assistance. Successful candidates will handle tasks requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, navigate various physical spaces, and perform responsibilities in diverse conditions.
