Job description:
Position operates one or multiple pieces of manufacturing equipment, which may involve moving raw materials to the production line, as well as processes related to filling, capping, sealing, labeling, or packaging products. The role includes removing damaged products or supplies as necessary and is responsible for production, packaging, and flavor changeovers. Additionally, the position requires maintaining product inspection processes, along with performing basic troubleshooting and minor repairs to ensure the efficient operation of production equipment.
The role necessitates physically demanding tasks that involve lifting, carrying, and pushing or pulling cases weighing between 20-45 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift. It also entails prolonged periods of walking or standing, with occasional stooping, crawling, and crouching to navigate around conveyors. Candidates should be prepared to work on weekends and/or holidays as required.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
– Operate and monitor production line(s) to ensure optimal efficiency.
– Remove or shift materials and/or finished products to facilitate appropriate flow.
– Ensure the quality of packaging and products.
– Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
– Efficiently and safely operate all manufacturing equipment, including new technologies.
– Clean equipment and work areas before, during, and after shifts.
– Maintain a clean and organized work environment through diligent housekeeping practices.
– Expedite repairs to the production line in collaboration with maintenance personnel as necessary.
– Maintain daily records of downtime and machine operations.
– Foster a collaborative work environment and effectively engage with team members.
– Exhibit regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
– Must be 18 years of age or older.
HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
– Proven experience with high-speed production lines, utilizing high output and high performance equipment in a fast-paced production environment.
– Familiarity with pallet handling, including operating forklifts and stacking/bundling products.
– Experience operating packing machines, including stacking, bundling, and wrapping products.
– Knowledge in operating filler machines, ensuring the correct mix of product, and handling production computer systems.
– Experience working with palletizers, including building pallets and managing product changeovers.
– Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics related to production workflow.
– Proficient in interpreting schedules and understanding production requirements and planning for changeovers.
– Competence in using computers in a manufacturing environment for monitoring line speed, pressures, troubleshooting, and equipment resetting.
– Familiarity with sanitization practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a food production setting.
– Experience in performing minor mechanical repairs, including using tools to resolve jams and making adjustments to equipment.
– Background in preventative maintenance, with a focus on equipment inspection and maintenance as a means of detecting and addressing issues proactively.
