Job description:

Production Paint Stripping (PPS) is a well-established leader in paint stripping and metal cleaning services, having proudly served the automotive and aerospace industries in Southern Ontario for three decades. Our operations extend across paint stripping facilities in both Ontario and the United States.

We invite a highly skilled and accomplished individual to join our team as a Maintenance Technician at our Fairborn facility. This full-time position primarily involves day shifts, with a Monday through Friday schedule and occasional weekend work as needed.

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in developing maintenance plans, performing routine inspections, and ensuring the functionality of various equipment and systems to uphold safe and efficient operations within budgetary constraints. The Maintenance Technician will collaborate closely with the Plant Manager and team members to maintain our company’s commitment to cleanliness, safety standards, and optimal equipment performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all facility equipment.
  • Coordinate and engage contractors for specialized repairs as necessary.
  • Monitor and manage maintenance expenses and budget to fulfill operational needs effectively.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on machinery, including forklifts, cranes, tank heaters, and transfer pumps.
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks on tank heaters, trailers, waste treatment systems, troubleshoot PLs, engage in fabrication tasks, and collaborate with licensed contractors on HVAC systems.
  • Perform safety equipment inspections, including checks on fire sprinklers, welding equipment, and tank mixers.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the plant and take initiative with management approval.
  • Carry out general housekeeping responsibilities and required documentation.
  • Potentially extend duties to encompass two PPS facilities.
  • Complete any additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a related field is advantageous.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in an equipment or maintenance environment within an automotive or industrial setting.
  • Proficient knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods, along with the use of basic hand tools for equipment repair.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve various issues, including equipment, personnel, and administrative challenges.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Physical Requirements:
