Job description:

Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance and repairs at the Odawa Casino Resort. This includes the upkeep of buildings, grounds, parking lots, and equipment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct general maintenance of the casino, hotel, administrative offices, and additional buildings as required or directed.
  • Identify and resolve issues promptly as they arise.
  • Maintain landscaped areas by mowing, trimming, planting, and watering as necessary.
  • Ensure the maintenance and functionality of equipment and tools.
  • Observe all areas for safety concerns and promptly address any potential hazards.
  • Monitor and evaluate all building systems to ensure they function efficiently and safely.
  • Uphold quality standards for the maintenance department.
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and events at the Odawa Casino Resort.
  • Assist various departments as needed, including setting up and dismantling sound equipment, stages, and related functions.
  • Support the Waste Water Treatment Plant during off-hours as required.
  • Adhere strictly to regulatory, safety, departmental, and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and operational standards of building systems related to the gaming floor and back of house.
  • Provide oversight for hotel maintenance responsibilities when necessary.
  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of the irrigation system.
  • Greet all guests and Team Members in a friendly and welcoming manner.
  • Conduct oneself professionally and positively, serving as a role model to fellow team members.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Complete all mandatory training successfully.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Be prepared to work at other properties as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License and be insurable through our insurance carrier, as occasional travel between locations will be necessary.
  • Fluency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking, is mandatory.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms is essential.
  • Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (SDS) is required.

  • Candidates must pass a pre-employment physical, as the role involves standing, walking for long periods, bending, stooping, reaching overhead, and lifting weights up to eighty (80) lbs. or more.
