Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Campus Marketing Manager to join our FOOD SERVICE leadership team at Oakland University, a prestigious institution located in the picturesque setting of Rochester Hills, Michigan. The Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in developing and executing tailored marketing strategies for our dining programs on campus. Responsibilities will include driving revenue growth, promoting meal plan sales, enhancing guest and client satisfaction, and elevating both Chartwells and campus brands through innovative events and activities that enrich the student experience. This role will engage with guests utilizing various platforms, including social media, surveys, and focus groups, to gauge satisfaction levels and explore opportunities for new service offerings, concepts, and menu enhancements.

Rochester Hills is celebrated for its family-friendly atmosphere, quality schools, beautiful parks, and overall high quality of life. The area is home to a variety of amenities, including shopping centers, cafés, restaurants, and outdoor recreational venues such as the Rochester Hills Museum and Bloomer Park. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on marketing support for food service events and program initiatives.
  • Guide units in executing marketing promotions, meal plan campaigns, and catering and retail strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with Chartwells’ retail and catering brand standards, encompassing brand identity, visual merchandising, and guest experience.
  • Develop marketing collateral and communication materials, including brochures, newsletters, promotional guides, and program announcements.
  • Coordinate and oversee content creation for marketing initiatives.
  • Manage field marketing requests and associated activities.
  • Operate within established budgets and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with vendors and marketing agencies.
  • Compile marketing reports through data collection, analysis, and summarization.
  • Maintain promotional inventory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or Hotel Management is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of professional marketing experience.
  • Strong background or interest in the hospitality and food sectors.
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and Content Management Systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with marketing strategies utilizing social media platforms.
