Job description:

Applies a variety of massage techniques utilizing hands and fingers to alleviate pain in muscles, soft tissues, and various regions of the body. The base rate is $15 per hour, with additional compensation for massages performed, leading to an average earning potential of $30 to $55 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and escort them to their designated treatment rooms.
  • Assist patients onto and off therapy equipment, such as traction and decompression tables.
  • Ensure a seamless transition by placing patients in adjustment rooms following their therapy.
  • Take and develop x-rays as needed.
  • Provide massage therapy for patients experiencing flare-ups and those receiving massage as part of their chiropractic care.
  • Deliver half-hour and one-hour massage treatments.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate with front desk staff to update the system.
  • At the beginning of each shift, activate lights, view boxes, TVs, and therapy beds, starting with consult rooms and progressing to all treatment areas.
  • Operate the hydrocollator and monitor its water level.
  • Perform weekly water changes in the hydrocollator collaboratively with other therapists.
  • Maintain equipment and perform light cleaning duties.
  • Clean adjustment tables thoroughly, paying particular attention to the facepiece to remove makeup and oils.
  • Launder gowns, linens, and towels daily, ensuring they are washed, dried, folded, and returned to the x-ray room.
  • Inspect treatment rooms for cleanliness and organization.
  • Ensure massage rooms are tidy, with tables consistently prepared.
  • Conduct bi-weekly inventory of supplies.
  • Execute additional related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Completion of a massage therapy training program from an accredited institution or apprenticeship is required.
  • Active licensure as a massage therapist is essential.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service capabilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
