Job description:

We are seeking a Material Coordinator for a full-time, long-term contract position at our client’s site in Bridgman, MI. The successful candidate will work independently and collaboratively with team members, while also engaging with stakeholders and vendors.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide training and oversight for new material specialists and project specialists.
  • Ensure equitable distribution of workload among material specialists and project specialists.
  • Identify daily receipt inspection tasks and communicate them to the work control supervisor.
  • Ensure that materials are procured, staged, and readily available for prefabrication, testing, and installation activities.
  • Attend project kick-off meetings to gain an understanding of the work scope and required materials.
  • Participate in project meetings and walkdowns.
  • Offer feedback on Engineering Change Material Lists (ECML) and participate in 60% and 90% package reviews.
  • Review Field Change Requests (FCR), Requests for Information (RFI), ECMLs, Engineering Take-offs, and quotes.
  • Complete and/or ensure that Maximo Engineering Requests are submitted for new materials.
  • Verify that all Engineering Requests are closed out after the review of new item creation.
  • Identify parts with long lead times for project teams.
  • Ensure all materials considered for installation are properly vetted to facilitate the creation of item numbers in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain Critical Digital Assets (CDAs) in accordance with procedures.
  • Ensure all Maximo Purchase Requisitions receive the appropriate approvals as per established protocols.
  • Oversee proper execution of material transfers.
  • Maintain inventories for project installations.
  • Ensure that the staging areas managed by the Materials team are maintained according to good housekeeping standards.
  • Liaise with delivery locations to ensure timely pickup and processing of materials through designated tracking systems.
  • Maintain access to the Digital Control Staging Area (DCSA) in the DCSA Security System.
  • Monitor issues during outages and report findings to management.
  • Provide weekly material updates to the work control supervisor.
  • Ensure that unused Quality Level (QL-1) materials are returned, if accepted by MMD.
  • Communicate obsoleted items identified by the buyer to the project teams.
  • Recommend replacements for obsoleted parts based on supplier information or research.
  • Create General Trackers (GTs) for equipment needed to be returned to inventory upon removal.
  • Contribute process improvement ideas and suggestions.

Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of material logistics and coordination.
  • Previous experience in a nuclear power plant environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Maximo software is preferred.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug/alcohol screening (including medical and recreational marijuana as well as CBD oil), and employment testing.
