In the role, the selected candidate will be responsible for efficiently loading, unloading, and moving materials within or in proximity to the plant or work site. The key responsibilities include:

  • Operating Hilo equipment in accordance with plant and federal regulations, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Maintaining vigilance while driving Hilo, being aware of the environment, including potential hazards such as water on floors and pedestrian activity in aisles.
  • Reading work orders and following verbal instructions to identify materials or containers that require movement; opening containers as necessary.
  • Safely loading and unloading materials onto or from trucks, pallets, racks, and shelves, utilizing manual handling, Hilo, or ladders.
  • Transporting materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
  • Counting, scanning, weighing, and recording the number of units of materials moved or handled.
  • Attaching identifying tags or labels to materials and accurately marking information on containers.
  • Verifying the accuracy of all labels and tags.
  • Engaging in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Completing operator check sheets for Hilo equipment and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Performing housekeeping activities to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
  • Upholding responsibilities pertaining to health and safety in the workplace by cooperating with OSHA and MIOSHA inspectors, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, adhering to safety regulations, and reporting unsafe conditions and incidents promptly.
  • Verifying all packing slips for accuracy.
  • Executing any additional duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Prior experience in industrial shipping or warehouse environments is preferred.
