Job description:
The schedule for this position is Monday to Friday from 10 PM to 6:30 AM.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a meticulous forklift operator to facilitate the movement of rolls of material throughout our facility. The primary objective of this role is to ensure that materials and products are positioned appropriately to maximize operational efficiency and maintain adequate supplies for converting machines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate a sit-down forklift to transport materials safely and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with team members to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Review specifications and schedules to prepare for upcoming tasks.
- Assist in the performance of minor machine maintenance.
- Palletize rolls and secure materials for shipping.
- Label rolls for identification purposes.
- Conduct quality checks on materials as required.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, machinery, and surrounding areas as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols by wearing safety glasses, safety boots or shoes, and hearing protection.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Strong team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently when necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS
The individual in this role regularly engages in standing, walking, and climbing onto and off of a forklift. Frequent hand use is required to handle objects, tools, or controls, as well as reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Effective verbal communication and auditory skills are essential. Specific vision requirements include close vision and the ability to perceive colors accurately. Additionally, the role involves working in proximity to moving mechanical parts.
