We are pleased to present an opportunity for a Mechanical Estimator in the Nashville, Tennessee area. The successful candidate will be tasked with accurately assessing the costs associated with mechanical systems for various projects, while also evaluating the necessary costs and schedules required for project execution. Familiarity with the organization’s competitive advantages will be essential, as these will need to be effectively communicated throughout the bidding process.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the mechanical bidding process, including general conditions, HVAC, process piping, ducting, millwrighting, and structural steel.
  • Conduct cost comparisons and detailed analyses.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with reliable trade contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Estimate costs for all mechanical plans, ensuring precise quantity take-offs.
  • Develop project schedules and define task durations.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to emerging construction methods and market trends.
  • Establish and oversee budgets throughout all construction phases.
  • Identify cost-saving techniques, materials, and procedures.
  • Monitor and assess changes in project plans.
  • Accurately estimate the costs associated with all changes.
  • Oversee subcontractor solicitations as required.
  • Draft scopes of work for subcontractors.
  • Read and interpret Contract Drawings and Specifications effectively.
  • Stay informed about competitive industry advantages to enhance the bidding process.
  • Assist in preparing submittals and collaborate with project managers during the pre-construction phase.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of construction experience is preferred.
  • Availability for travel to job sites as needed.
  • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends if required.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and plans.
