Job description:

Homestead Health Care is currently seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide essential support to our residents in Flint, MI, with the ability to administer medications. The Caregiver will play a vital role in assisting residents with their activities of daily living while offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine passion for helping others, possess exceptional communication skills, and cultivate meaningful relationships with seniors. This position is part-time, and no licenses or certifications are required, as we are willing to provide training. We are eager to hire immediately!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including, but not limited to, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Administer medications and injections to residents according to their medical charts, ensuring proper documentation of all medications.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients to enhance their quality of life.
  • Maintain a clean environment, which may involve light housekeeping tasks.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions promptly to the supervisor.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and coworkers at Homestead.
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control measures.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Valid driver’s license or identification required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with a strong emphasis on punctuality for every shift.

Schedule:

This is a part-time role, with Caregivers scheduled for 8-hour shifts. Working every other weekend is mandatory.

Pay:
