Job description:

Homestead Health Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide quality care to our residents in Flint, MI, with a willingness to assist in medication administration. The Caregiver will support residents in their activities of daily living while offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for helping others, exhibit excellent communication skills, and build authentic relationships with seniors. This is a part-time position, and we are eager to hire immediately, providing training for those without prior licenses or certifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, as well as provide incontinence care.
  • Administer medications and injections to residents according to medical charts and adhere to procedures for documenting medication administration.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain a clean environment, which may include light housekeeping duties.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor promptly.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend is required.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license or ID are essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, as well as punctuality for all shifts.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position, with caregivers scheduled for 8-hour shifts. Availability for every other weekend is mandatory.

Pay:
