Job description:

Homestead Health Care is actively seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide essential care to our residents and administer medications in Flint, MI. The Caregiver will assist residents with activities of daily living and offer companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for aiding others, exhibit exceptional communication skills, and build meaningful relationships with seniors. This is a part-time position, and no prior licenses or certifications are required, as we are willing to provide training. We are hiring immediately!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Administer medications and injections to residents in accordance with medical charts, ensuring proper documentation procedures are followed.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain a clean environment, which may include light housekeeping duties.
  • Report any changes in resident conditions to the supervisor promptly.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control protocols.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Capable of passing a criminal background check.
  • Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend is necessary.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • A valid driver’s license or ID is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, and to consistently arrive on time for scheduled shifts.

Schedule:

This is a part-time position, and Caregivers will be scheduled for 8-hour shifts, with an expectation to work every other weekend.
