$1,000 Sign-On Bonus

Summary:
This non-exempt medical office role is responsible for delivering direct nursing care within a medical office environment under physician oversight. The position involves assisting medical providers and ensuring a clean and safe workplace in accordance with the practice’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
Essential Job Responsibilities:
– Uphold and promote the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources.
– Comply with the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
– Demonstrate commitment to the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by staying informed of compliance responsibilities as stated in the Code of Conduct, adhering to applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and corporate policies, and promptly reporting any compliance issues or concerns.
– Assist in assessing patients’ needs and health plans by taking vital signs, gathering medical history and medication lists, measuring visual acuity, and identifying the chief complaint. Evaluate patients’ physical and mental health status.
– Complete all necessary documentation in the patient’s medical record in alignment with the practice’s charting policies.
– Prepare medical equipment and assist physicians during treatments, examinations, and procedures.
– Administer prescribed oral medications and perform intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections, as well as venipunctures, and both CLIA-Waived and non-CLIA Waived lab testing.
– Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients and visitors, which includes sterilizing instruments, stocking exam rooms, and managing supplies inventory.
– Adhere to established personal protective equipment protocols to ensure protection against exposure to blood, infectious materials, chemical disinfectants, radiation, and other hazardous substances.
– Facilitate specialized consultations and appointments for tests as ordered by physicians, and coordinate with insurance personnel for pre-certifications required for surgeries or tests.
– Answer office phones and assist with appointment scheduling and call direction.
– Aid patients during the checkout process and assist with referral processing and scheduling.
– Support other functions of the physician practice as needed.

Qualifications:
Education:
– High school diploma or GED is required.
– Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program or equivalent relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Certification:
– Medical Assistant certification is preferred (required in specific departments, with a 90-day period allowed to obtain certification).
– CPR/BLS certification is required.

Experience:
– A minimum of one year of experience in a physician office is highly preferred.
