Corewell Health is pleased to offer a sign-on bonus of up to $2,000 for full-time Medical Assistant (MA) positions and $1,000 for part-time MA roles. We are currently seeking Medical Assistants for our Float Pool, a dynamic opportunity that allows you to work across various clinics as needed, thus providing exposure to a range of specialties. Job Summary
Under the supervision of management and physician leadership, the Medical Assistant is responsible for performing and overseeing clinical activities that facilitate the delivery of primary and preventative health care. Key responsibilities include maintaining patient flow, assisting with technical procedures, laboratory protocols, and other clinically oriented activities as directed by the physician/provider. The Medical Assistant will also support management in achieving operational efficiencies while adhering to established policies and procedures. A strong focus on promoting the "Service First" philosophy to enhance customer satisfaction is essential.
Essential Functions
- Provide assistance to physicians/providers by delivering primary healthcare and managing patient care.
- Collaborate effectively with clerical staff to optimize clinic operations and enhance patient flow.
- Coordinate with external healthcare facilities and agencies concerning patient care and insurance matters.
- Maintain up-to-date competencies and effectively communicate process and workflow to leadership and accreditation bodies.
- Perform front office duties and provide coverage as necessary.
- Offer support in other departments or locations as required.
- Exhibit exceptional customer service skills and embrace the model of patient- and family-centered care.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or relevant certification (LPN, EMT, ER Tech, paramedic) is required.
- Nursing students from an accredited registered or licensed practical nursing program may be considered after completing a clinical course of study.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) are required upon hire.
