We are currently seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. In this pivotal role, the Medical Assistant collaborates closely with a primary care physician to provide exceptional patient care and ensure a remarkable guest experience. Due to our unique model, Medical Assistants manage the full spectrum of the patient experience, fulfilling both the responsibilities of a Medical Receptionist and those of a Medical Assistant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities reflect the main expectations for this position but are not exhaustive:
– Escort patients to examination rooms, ensuring that the rooms are thoroughly cleaned and adequately stocked.
– Review previous medical records and collect updated health information from patients to aid the provider.
– Measure vital signs, perform blood draws, administer injections, dress wounds, and assist with medical procedures in collaboration with contracted labs for additional testing.
– Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations via various methods (oral, topical, inhaled, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal) as directed by the provider’s written orders.
– Work in partnership with the care team to formulate individual patient care plans, identifying and addressing care gaps.
– Perform front desk duties, which include patient scheduling, processing medical record requests, documentation, coordinating specialist visits and referrals, and handling patient check-in and check-out.
– Accurately record relevant data in the medical records in accordance with documentation guidelines.
– Process test results and communicate timely results to patients via e-message, mail, or phone as directed by the provider.
– Engage in outreach initiatives to promote patient participation among eligible groups.
– Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment necessary for treatments.
Qualifications:
– A minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a Primary Care setting, with variations based on clinic needs.
– Graduation from a recognized Medical Assistant program or a related field.
– Possession of national or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred; certification or registration is required in states where it is mandated.
– Current CPR/BLS certification required by the start date.
– Phlebotomy experience is advantageous.
