About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team. The Medical Assistant plays a pivotal role within our care team, collaborating closely with a primary care physician to deliver exceptional patient care while ensuring an outstanding guest experience. In our unique model, the Medical Assistant oversees the complete spectrum of the patient experience, functioning as both a Medical Receptionist and a Medical Assistant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties and responsibilities reflect the expectations of this position and are not intended to be exhaustive:

  • Escort patients to exam rooms, ensuring thorough cleaning and stocking of rooms.
  • Review previous medical information and gather relevant updated health information from patients to inform healthcare providers.
  • Obtain vital signs, perform blood draws, administer injections, dress wounds, and assist with procedures; coordinate with contracted laboratories for additional tests.
  • Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations (oral, topical, inhaled, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal) as directed by and upon written orders from the provider.
  • Collaborate with other care team members to develop individualized patient care plans, identifying and addressing gaps in care.
  • Handle front desk responsibilities, including patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinating specialist visits and referrals, as well as check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Accurately record pertinent data in the medical record following established documentation guidelines.
  • Process test results and communicate timely updates to patients via e-message, mail, or phone as instructed by the provider.
  • Participate in outreach efforts to enhance patient engagement across eligible patient groups.
  • Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment for treatments.

About You:

  • A minimum of one year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in primary care; requirements may vary based on clinic needs.
  • Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or another related program.
  • National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred; certification or registration is required in states where it is mandated for employment.
  • CPR/BLS certification is required upon start date.
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred.
