About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team. The Medical Assistant plays a pivotal role in our care team, working closely with a primary care physician to ensure exceptional patient care and an outstanding guest experience. Due to our innovative model, our Medical Assistants are responsible for managing the entire patient experience, functioning both as Medical Receptionists and fulfilling the clinical duties of Medical Assistants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This role encompasses various responsibilities that generally reflect the expectations associated with this position, but are not intended to be exhaustive:

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure these spaces are thoroughly cleaned and well-stocked.
  • Review previous medical histories and gather relevant updated health information from patients to inform providers.
  • Take vital signs, perform blood draws, administer injections, dress wounds, and assist with clinical procedures, coordinating with contracted labs for additional testing.
  • Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations per the Provider’s written orders, utilizing oral, topical, inhaled, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal methods.
  • Collaborate with other care team members to create individualized patient care plans, proactively identifying and addressing care gaps.
  • Perform front desk responsibilities, including patient scheduling, managing medical record requests, documentation, coordinating specialist visits and referrals, as well as overseeing patient check-in and check-out processes.
  • Accurately record pertinent information in the medical records according to established documentation guidelines.
  • Process test results and provide timely information to patients via e-message, mail, or phone according to instructions from the Provider.
  • Engage in outreach efforts to enhance patient engagement among eligible demographic groups.
  • Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment necessary for treatments.

About You

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a Primary Care setting, with flexibility based on clinic needs.
  • Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or a related field.
  • National or state-specific Medical Assistant certification or registration is strongly preferred; certification/registration is required for employment in states where it is mandated.
  • CPR/BLS certification is required upon start date.
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred.
