Job Summary
The Recovery Mobile Clinic is seeking dedicated Medical Assistants to join our innovative team. Our unique clinic operates from RVs and SUVs, collaborating with community agencies to deliver essential healthcare services to those who require it most. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we are proud to offer our services to patients without ever sending a bill. Our focus is on supporting individuals facing mental illness, homelessness, and substance use disorders. With our continued growth, we are expanding our fleet of RVs, teams, and locations each month, making it an exciting time for those seeking mobility in their career.

In your role as a Medical Assistant at the Recovery Mobile Clinic, you will engage in tasks that align with both standard medical assistant duties and those specific to our mobile clinic model. Responsibilities will include learning our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, Clinic Tracker, and assisting Nurse Practitioners with patient preparation. Front desk tasks will encompass checking insurance information, inputting vaccination data into the Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR), updating patient information, and managing scheduling and patient communications. You will also assist patients in applying for Medicaid and SNAP benefits.

Additionally, you will participate in back-office duties, including phlebotomy, vaccine administration, intramuscular injections, wound care, collecting vital signs and urine samples, and more. Responsibilities will also involve inventory management of medical supplies, setting up equipment, and cleaning instruments and exam rooms as needed. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to be trained in operating an RV, adding an element of fun to your role!

Responsibilities

  • Prepare for patient visits and set up medical equipment accordingly
  • Clean instruments and equipment after each use
  • Answer phone inquiries and address questions related to medical issues, identifying patient needs
  • Assist Nurse Practitioners with basic medical care and procedures
  • Track lab results, schedule patient appointments, assist with Medicaid applications, and manage routine medical office tasks
  • Stock, clean, and prepare medical units at the start and conclusion of each day

Qualifications

  • BLS Certification or Certified Medical Assistant preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
