Job description:

Greet patients warmly as they arrive and depart from our clinic, ensuring a professional and friendly atmosphere. The Front Desk/Receptionist will play a crucial role in welcoming patients, updating and verifying their information, including acquiring patient identification and insurance details, processing copayments, and registering patients within the billing system. This position also requires maintaining effective communication among patients, providers, and clinical staff, managing scheduling inquiries, and offering essential support as needed.

Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check in patients in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Accurately enter, update, and verify insurance information and patient demographics while utilizing various medical software systems.
  • Complete the patient registration process by reviewing accounts and compliance-related documents for completeness and accuracy. Obtain and document any missing information necessary for registration.
  • Prepare paperwork for patient visits.
  • Verify patient benefits and eligibility as needed, and collect all required copays, deductibles, and coinsurance. Address inquiries regarding account status, payment arrangements, and concerns. Resolve billing or charge disputes or escalate problem accounts to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Monitor patient flow, adjust workflows accordingly, and notify clinical staff of pertinent information or changes.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, guests, back office staff, and providers.
  • Reconcile cash against daily charge summaries and cash reports.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments as necessary.
  • Create, distribute, and organize new patient charts and medical records.
  • Execute clerical tasks including copying, sorting, scanning, and faxing.
  • Efficiently check out patients, ensuring collection of appropriate copays, outstanding balances, and fees; verifying completion of all required forms; and updating medical records as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy front desk area and waiting room, restocking necessary supplies.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including standard operating procedures and the employee handbook.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Desired:

  • Experience as a telephone operator or in a high-call-volume environment.
