Job description:

Join our team as a Medical Office Assistant at Fox Run Village by Erickson Senior Living. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the initial point of contact for patients, welcoming them and collecting essential information, including contact and insurance details. You will also provide vital administrative support to ensure that all patients receive exceptional care and service.

Compensation for this position starts at $19.00 per hour and is commensurate with experience.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Efficiently receive and schedule patients at the front desk, as well as handle multi-line phone inquiries and take accurate messages.
  • Document concise messages from both internal and external customers.
  • Oversee the uploading of new patient information into the portal.
  • Request and follow up on patient medical records from outside providers to ensure timely receipt.
  • Accurately scan and file documents into patient charts, ensuring proper labeling and attachment of reports to referrals/orders.
  • Verify patient insurance prior to appointments, including manual verification when necessary, and update insurance information in the system.
  • Conduct daily reminder calls to patients regarding their upcoming appointments.
  • Assist with the completion of Visit Prep forms to facilitate efficient provider visits.
  • Collaborate with other departments and specialists to support care coordination as needed.
  • Manage spreadsheets and complete tasks as directed by the Practice Administrator.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to residents, families, and vendors.

What You Will Need:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in a front medical office setting is required.
  • Proficiency in using a multi-line electronic telephone system.
  • Basic computer skills are essential.
  • Strong communication skills are vital.
  • Experience in filing, charting, and documenting accurate patient records.
