Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Member Services Representative to join our team on a part-time basis during the afternoon and evening hours. Bilingual candidates proficient in both English and Spanish are highly encouraged to apply. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering outstanding customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, fostering an exceptional “Judgement Free” experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

• Warmly greet members and guests, ensuring they feel comfortable and welcome.
• Answer phone calls with a friendly demeanor, assisting callers with a range of inquiries.
• Check in members, conduct tours, enroll new members, log amenities, and communicate updates and events.
• Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Process beverage or merchandise transactions using the point-of-sale system.
• Utilize the POS system to assist with issuing new membership cards, updating addresses, and resolving billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Maintain a clean and orderly front desk area and lobby, going above and beyond in cleanliness.
• Conduct regular facility cleaning including mopping spills, removing trash, and cleaning windows and mirrors, as well as re-racking weights.
• Ensure cleaning of all exercise equipment and tanning beds is performed regularly.
• Attend to the cleanliness and stocking of restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Candidates for this role must undergo a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire. Continued employment is contingent upon a satisfactory outcome.
• Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to interact positively and professionally with members and colleagues, consistently exceeding member expectations.
• Previous customer service experience is preferred.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• An upbeat, positive, and professional attitude is essential.
• Punctuality and reliability are critical.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within the required timeframe, with the physical capability to administer CPR/AED in emergencies.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods, as well as perform frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, twisting, grasping, and repetitive hand motions.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
• Proficient verbal communication skills in person and on the phone throughout the shift.
• Ability to see within normal visual range, with or without correction.
• Ability to hear within normal audio range, with or without correction.
