Job description:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Member Services Representative to join our dedicated team. Bilingual candidates proficient in both English and Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring an outstanding “Judgement Free” experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service/Front Desk Activities:
– Greet members and guests warmly, delivering exemplary customer service to create a welcoming atmosphere.
– Answer phone inquiries with friendliness and assist callers by addressing a variety of questions.
– Check in members, conduct tours for prospective members, manage sign-ups, and log amenities while communicating updates and events to members and guests.
– Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
– Facilitate beverage and merchandise purchases using the point-of-sale system.
– Utilize the POS system to assist with new membership cards, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:
– Ensure the front desk area and lobby are consistently clean and organized.
– Perform regular maintenance tasks, including mopping spills, removing trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
– Carry out routine cleaning of all exercise equipment and tanning beds.
– Maintain cleanliness and adequate stocking of restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:
– Candidates for this position must undergo a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire. Continued employment is contingent upon a satisfactory outcome of the background check.
– Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to interact positively and professionally with members and colleagues, exceeding member expectations.
– Prior experience in customer service is preferred.
– Must be at least 18 years of age.
– A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
– A positive, upbeat, and professional demeanor is essential.
– Punctuality and reliability are crucial.
– Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within the timeframe required by the company, demonstrating physical capability to perform CPR/AED in medical emergencies.

Physical Demands/Requirements:
– Ability to walk and stand for extended periods; perform frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, twisting, grasping, and repetitive hand motions.
– Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
