Job description:

We are actively seeking a dedicated and motivated Member Services Representative to join our team. Bilingual candidates fluent in both English and Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering a superior level of customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, thereby ensuring an exceptional "Judgement Free" member experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Duties:

  • Greet members and guests warmly, providing exceptional customer service that fosters a welcoming environment.
  • Respond to phone inquiries in a friendly manner, assisting callers with a variety of questions.
  • Check in members, conduct facility tours, sign up new members, log amenities, and communicate updates and events to members and guests.
  • Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Facilitate beverage or merchandise purchases using the point of sale system.
  • Utilize the POS system to assist with new membership cards, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the front desk area and lobby.
  • Perform regular facility cleaning tasks, including mopping spills under equipment, trash removal, and cleaning windows and mirrors.
  • Ensure all exercise equipment and tanning beds are cleaned routinely.
  • Conduct regular cleaning and stocking of restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Applicants for overnight positions must consent to a seven-year criminal background check within the first week of hire; continued employment will depend on a satisfactory background check outcome.
  • Exemplary customer service skills are essential, with a proven ability to interact positively and professionally with members and co-workers, consistently exceeding member expectations.
  • Previous customer service experience is preferred.
  • Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • An upbeat, positive, and professional attitude is required.
  • Punctuality and reliability are critical for this role.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within the timelines required by the company and to maintain the physical ability to perform CPR/AED in emergencies.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, stand, and engage in physical activities for extended periods.
  • Capability to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand motions.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
  • Continual verbal communication in person or on the phone throughout the shift.
  • Maintain the physical ability to administer CPR in medical emergencies.
