Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Member Services Representative to enhance our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring a distinctive “Judgement Free” experience. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

• Greet members and guests warmly, delivering exemplary customer service to create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Answer incoming calls in a friendly and professional manner, assisting callers with various inquiries.
• Check in members, conduct tours, sign up new members, document amenities, and communicate updates and events to members and guests.
• Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Facilitate beverage and merchandise transactions using the point of sale system.
• Utilize the POS system to assist with new membership cards, address changes, and billing inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Ensure the front desk area and lobby are kept clean and organized.
• Perform regular cleaning and maintenance tasks, including mopping spills, trash removal, window and mirror cleaning, and re-racking weights.
• Conduct routine cleaning of exercise equipment and tanning beds.
• Maintain cleanliness and stocking of restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Applicants must complete a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire; continued employment depends on successful clearance.
• Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to positively engage with members and coworkers and exceed their expectations.
• Prior customer service experience is preferred.
• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• An upbeat, positive, and professional demeanor is essential.
• Punctuality and reliability are critical.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within the required time frames and retain the physical ability to perform CPR/AED in emergencies.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand motions.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
• Capable of continuous verbal communication in person or over the phone during shifts.
• Maintain physical capability to administer CPR during medical emergencies.
• Possess normal visual acuity with or without correction.
• Ability to hear within the normal audio range, with or without correction.
